Gavriel Micah

Gavriel Micah is a trumpet player in Denver who writes and arranges instrumental music. Most of it is built on Jewish diaspora melodies, and the trumpet leads.

He leans on melody and improvisation rather than technical display. The music runs from quiet ballads to hard bop, and traditional tunes sit alongside his own.

Songs I Found, out December 4, 2026, takes eight klezmer tunes and treats them the way a jazz group treats standards. The melodies stay exactly as written and the harmony and form underneath are rebuilt. Two of the ten tracks are his own. Wade Ridenhour plays piano and Tymon Trąbczyński plays double bass. Earlier singles include Everything West of Here, Doikayt and The Long Path.

Away from music he works as a software developer and spatial epidemiologist.
